Bell & Howell Names New CEO for Its Education and Library Business

    SKOKIE, Ill., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Bell & Howell Company (NYSE: BHW)
announces the appointment of Joseph P. Reynolds (48) as president and chief
executive officer of its Ann Arbor, Michigan-based UMI Company, a global
leader in providing value added information to libraries and schools.
    Previously, Reynolds was the CEO of the ITP School and Career Education
Group, an approximately $300 million unit of The Thomson Corporation (TOC).
During his 15 years with Thomson, Reynolds held a number of senior management
positions and built a significant track record in the education market
producing higher than average industry growth in both sales and earnings.  He
also spent nine years in a number of different units of Prentice Hall, Inc.
